A night at Manila Grand Opera Hotel and Casino

Its my Mom's 51st birthday last April 6, 2014 and my sisters' graduation the day before so My mom planned to celebrate at Manila Grand Opera Hotel and Casino.

Manila Grand Opera Hotel and Casino

The only elegant hotel in downtown Manila, stands at the former site of the Manila Grand Opera House known for many years as the “Theater with a History”.
The hotel is located at 925 Rizal Ave. cor Doroteo Jose St. Sta Cruz 1003 Manila, Philippines It is just beside Doroteo Jose station. The location was quite a little odd for a hotel but then as their description says "It stands in the former Opera house known for many years". It is good that they have transformed the old building into something useful especially for tourism.

When I entered the hotel a soft music will welcome you. The Receptionist welcomed and entertained us. There a enough chairs. news papers and paintings around the place. There is a coffee shop, restaurant and bar near the reception area.

We reserved two majestic rooms. The rooms has a Comfort room, Television, small fridge and 2 single beds. We haven't tried the food there since we already brought ours on the room.

There is a casino at the mezzanine if you wish to try your luck,a  KTV bar that costs 550 pesos per head and free use of swimming pool and sauna (for 2 adults and 2 kids only per room).
My cousins and I stayed at the pool from 8pm to 12am. The pool is open 24 hours a day. There are towels provided. Exceeding guest who would like to swim will be charged  300 Pesos per head.

I had a good time taking a bath since there is a water heater. What I don't like about the hotel is their poor Wi-fi connection which made us crazy since we can't connect and post our pictures.

I recommend this hotel for people who loves the theater since the whole hotel is full of paintings and pictures about opera. This is a good place to stay if you can't go to a long trip outside the metro since the pool is is free for those who are checked-in.
